Klez and Abalone’s Actual Game Stand
~~~
...[Continued from the previous artwork] Klez and Abalone set up a Game Stand a distance away from the spot Semi, Butter, and Ali were greeting trick-or-treaters.
There had been... some tensions as the two groups had set up their separate stands.
Semi was excited (but overeager in Klez's opinion) to help everyone get ready for the Hattowen festival, and she had made most of the group's costumes (including hers, Butter's, and Abalone's) herself in a human whirlwind.
This wasn't Klez's first festival though, and it felt... uncomfortable to have the human so constantly within a hair's breath of tripping over him and his stand's preparations.
The distance between the two groups' set ups was a deliberate decision on Klez's part to try to gain some breathing room, but it barely had any effect and Semi would appear out of nowhere with supplies for the stand, or to attempt to chat with him and Abalone.
Klez was trying hard to be nicer.
He really was.
Abalone had asked him to and he really didn't want to be that guy who everyone had to put up with because they were grumpy for no. Reason. At. All.
But at some point he snapped and just had to walk away fast before when Semi reappeared for the twelfth time that day (yes, he had been counting). He spent a long time after that wandering Crossroads, watching wares of windchimes and scarves absorbed by the wind, not sure if they were making him feel calmer.
He came back to his stand to find a handmade robot costume resting on the stump were he had yet to pin up the game's balloons. It was painted metallic sliver and a black marker had been used to draw various robot designs. A bow the color of his glasses was glued to its chest.
He wasn't sure what to think.
