What a wind!

"Oh... what a wind!" Cheese said, placing one of her paws/wings on her face, covering it to prevent grass and dirt from being thrown at her.

She exhales as she "meows": "That means it's a great day to fly!"

She says, raising her wings happily while stomping her feet on the ground in a joyful "dance". Soon, she runs towards Gardenia's Garden, opens the nursery's fence and finds her little place of calm. Artificial grass spreads across the floor, and several super fluffy pillows were scattered in excess in the place. The little Hatchlings played happily, without worrying about the big blue Bakiri entering the little room. "Hello, my little ones!" she says, smiling. The little ones change their focus to Cheese, saying in chorus: "Hello, Miss Cuddles!"

They kindly smile at her and go to Bakiri for a tight hug. They all go over to her, almost knocking her over with so much affection. "Calm down, my little ones... I came to get some of you! Today autumn has started... we must get ready for a flying lesson." She says, smiling and hugging the Hatchlings. "Reedly and Rowan, come with mommy..." she says, stroking Rowan's head as she smiles. She also sits on the ground and lets the other Hatchlings climb on her lap. "Don't worry, sweeties, I'll be back soon and make a snack for all of you." She says, kissing some Hatchlings on the forehead. A small yellow and brown Buppy meows irritably: "Oh, Honey... unfortunately you can't go with us. You might end up flying away with the wind, and you can't fly. That wouldn't be good at all, Honeypie." Cheese said calmly, touching her nose to Honey's.

Cheese, with the little Bukki's behind her, finally reached a clearing. The grass wasn't very tall, but it was very green. The smell of the grass and the scent of chamomile mixed with the wind. The Bakiris raised their snouts, feeling the wind blowing on their faces. Little by little, Cheese opened her wings/paws as the breeze lifted her. "Children... do what I do..." She said, running a little as she took flight. The wind passing through her wingtips was invigorating, and the sound of the wind was calming to anyone... The two little Bukkis looked at each other as Cheese flew low around them, trying to encourage them to try. The first to gain courage was Reedly. With her lively nature, this was already predictable. She spread her wings the same way as her mother, feeling her feet start to leave the ground. Then she ran quickly, jumping to get her paws off the ground, and finally glided. She was clumsy, but that was to be expected for her first flight. "Well done, Reedly dear!" said Cheese.

"Come on, Rowan! You try too, Mommy trusts you!"

She flew very close to the black and grey Bukki's head, bringing a gust of wind and scents to him. With the calming scent of his mother, Rowan was more willing to try. He slowly raised his wings, feeling the wind push him back a little. The wind was obstructing his vision a little, but that wouldn't stop him from trying to make his mother proud. On his first attempt, he ran, tried to do the same little jumps as his sister, but ended up tripping on a rock and hitting his forehead on the ground.

Like an eagle, Cuddles flew towards the fallen little ball of fur, picking him up, worried as soon as he landed. Reedly soon landed next to his mother, trying to see if his brother was okay. "Oh, Rowan! My sweetie! Are you okay??? Talk to me!"

She said, almost screaming with concern. In response, Rowan wiped his forehead with his paw/wing, cleaning the scrape that had been left and making a "👍" to his mother. Cheese's eyes calmed down, and she put him down on the ground. The little one soon stood up, still feeling discomfort from his recent injury. "Oh, my sugar cube... I'm sorry for letting this happen... if you don't want to try anymore, it's okay, you must be scared..." Before Cheese could finish speaking, the black Bukki was already spreading his wings/paws again to try again, determined to succeed. Once again, Cheese calmed down, realizing that Rowan wanted to keep trying. "Okay, my love." She said, spreading her wings too. "Let's go together this time... as a family." She said, as Reedly, beside her, also spread his wings. The three of them ran a little and took off at the same time. Rowan couldn't believe how good it felt. Flying was amazing! He was glad he hadn't given up and was soon catching the fastest air currents, trying to do tricks. His sister took the hint and started trying some too. Cheese, always vigilant, of course, laughed as he watched the little ones having fun.

The three Bakiris were so busy having fun that they didn't even notice a small wet ball approaching. Honey hadn't accepted what Cheese had said. He wanted to fly too! "I'm going to FLY,whether they like it or not!" He thought, as he hid in the grass and held the ground with his paws so as not to fly away. Soon, when the strongest wind blew, he opened his wings/paws, hoping that, if he did the same as the three Bakiris, he would be able to fly too. (He had been watching them since they started flying lessons.) And, unlike what he imagined, instead of an elegant flight like Cheese's, he was thrown away by the gust of air. Unable to stop, he screeched in fright, asking for help. People say that mothers have a kind of intuition and know when bad things are going to happen. So, even without hearing Honey's screech, Cheese turned his head towards him, only to see him being thrown by the wind. "HONEY!" She screamed as she dove from the sky like a hawk. Her speed was incredible for a creature of her size. She accelerated, trying to reach Buppy, who began to cry due to the terror he felt in that situation. The other two Bukkis noticed what was happening and went straight to help their mother. Even though Honey was a Buppy and was the most recent Hatchling to arrive at the nursery, the two considered him a brother. So, under no circumstances would they let him be taken. The two dove into the air like missiles, intertwining on the way like a braid. If it weren't for the urgency of the situation, Reedly would definitely have stopped to praise this performance. The two Bukkis stopped in front of Honey, blocking the wind and making him go slower, while their mother finally managed to reach him, curling up in a ball to protect him from the fall they were about to suffer.

Reedly and Rowan landed next to their fallen mother, worried. Cheese was all scraped up, with small spots of red painting the very green grass of the plain. But soon the adult Bakiri let out a sigh, uncoiling herself, a trickle of blood running from her snout and some purple and scraped spots on her body. But she was still smiling: "I got you..." She said to little Honey, curled up in the palm of her wings/paws. The little one was still crying, as he slowly opened his eyes and saw that he was intact, without any injuries. But, on the other hand, Cheese was covered in bruises and wounds. Honey began to cry and apologize for having made Bakiri, who cared so much about him, get hurt so much. But, instead of getting stressed, cursing or hitting Honey, Cheese pressed his forehead to Honey's as he said: "I'm so glad you're okay..." She said, with a small tear in her eye. "I'll never let you get hurt, honey... either of you." She said, looking at the two Bukkis who were staring at her from behind. She turned her attention to little Buppy: "I'm not mad at you, sweetie... I'm just worried... my sweetie... next time you want to see us fly, just ask me! I told you you couldn't fly... but I never said you couldn't watch us or ask for a ride." She said, caressing the little one. "I know it's hard for you... it's all so new... this place... these Ranebopets... but we all worry about you... especially me. Don't worry... even though you didn't come out of my womb... I still see you as my offspring... blood of my blood... I will love you as if you were my son, and I would like you to love me as if I were your mother... but if you can't, I won't force you, and I will continue to love you." She said, hugging Honey and placing him close to her chest to listen to his heartbeat. The other two Bukkis also came close and hugged each other. That was the hug of a family. Not the most normal, but still a family, a loving family.

Honey finally understood. Now he had a home, a place where he would be infinitely loved.
